Manac Trailers was founded out of a barn in Saint-Georges, Quebec. During 1966, its first year of production, it manufactured only 11 trailers. Throughout the 1970s and 80s, the company grew rapidly, eventually forming the Canam Manac Group. The company expanded further and diversified its product lineup through a series of acquisitions during the early 2000s. As a result, the company spun off its semi-trailer division in 2004, which was acquired by Manac Inc.
 

One of Manac Trailers’s biggest assets is the number of different brands under its control, such as Alutrec, ABS, CPS, Cobra, Peerless, and Liddell Canada. When Manac Trailers acquired these brands, it also acquired their assets, including materials, production facilities, and patented technologies.
