Trailer Rental Tips
Trailers are one of the most efficient ways to transport goods from one place to another. However, you may be in a situation where you will only briefly need a trailer, or are still saving up to purchase one. In these cases, renting is your best option. That is why the experts at Utility Trailer Sales of Washington have created this guide to trailer renting.
Tow Vehicle
The first thing to consider is the capabilities of your tow vehicle, including its towing limits and whether it has a hitch. Make sure that your tow vehicle is strong enough to handle the weight of the cargo and the trailer combined before you sign the rental agreement. Some trailer types, such as gooseneck trailers, require that the tow vehicle have a special hitch installed. If your tow vehicle does not have the proper hitch, the rental trailer will be useless to you.
Accessories
Many trailers have additional features and accessories that can make loading and unloading easier. These can include detachable ramps, pre-installed ramps, or lifting mechanisms that help place cargo in the trailer. Figure out which, if any, of these features could be useful for your intended work, and look for rental trailers that offer them.
Tie Downs
In many cases, your rental trailer will not come with tie-downs to secure the goods you are transporting. Luckily, finding the proper tie-downs is usually an easy process. Bungee cords or rope will work in most cases, though an open bed trailer will require straps.
